Because summer nights out for me usually consist of simple meals followed or preceded by outdoor activities, it’s been a little while since I’ve dressed up for dining. So on Saturday when my friend Ida and I decided to go to The Acorn for a fine vegan meal, I jumped at the opportunity to pull out some new formal pieces that I had not yet worn. This tuxedo blazer and double monk strap shoes are both pieces in classic styles but with a modern twist – my favourite.
This King Oyster Mushroom Dish was the best vegan meal I had in my life, so even though this is not a food blog I had to throw in a mention! Delicious food is obviously an essential part of a enjoyable dinner, but having great company is also very important. My friend Ida is a social worker and I really enjoyed talking to her about all sorts of societal issues from gender differences to child development. Best of all, our conversations were in a casual and relaxed tone with much laughter in between. I am blessed to have friends like Ida who can enlighten me so much!
