I’m currently writing this blog post while there is a big thunderstorm happening outside. I love the idea of hiding indoors from a storm, but I better write fast in case my power goes out!
With summer coming to an end, this week has been quite rainy and so my trusted trench coat is making an appearance again. Despite how the trench coat is supposed to be a more formal piece of outerwear, I actually like sporting it in casual looks. In fact, the trench coat + tee + boots is my most anticipated look for this Fall. This look is easy to wear, keeps me dry, and when I do up the coat I look like I’m on a secret mission.
One odd thing about me is that I treat clothes like souvenirs or antiques. I associate pieces of clothing with memories, and that’s why some of my oldest clothes are invaluable to me. This tee I’m wearing here is one of the oldest pieces in my closet. I bought it during my last year of high school at The Bay and it’s one of a few pieces that I still own from that time of my life. On top of wearing it to school many times, this tee even traveled to Taiwan with me where it was almost forgotten at a hotel in Taipei. Scary thing is, I can probably tell you similar detailed stories about most of what’s in my closet. Although part of me wishes this capacity of my brain can be used elsewhere, I do like how I can “wear” some of my fondest memories on rainy days like today.
