For this new post in my Ways to Wear series I will be talking about one of my favourite Fall/Winter items: the Flannel Shirt. Flannel is a soft and comfortable woven fabric that I really enjoy wearing during cooler seasons. Flannel shirts are usually in a plaid pattern and are considered more casual than a dress shirt or an oxford shirt. Here I’ll be showcasing 2 casual ways and 2 formal ways to style this easy-going piece.
Vancouver has been shrouded in some pretty thick fog over the last week. A few of my friends have remarked that it’s like living in Silent Hill. I have never seen fog like this last for so long, but for the eerie month of October I think it’s very fitting – hoping that it’ll stick around over Halloween. It’s surprising to me how quickly this month flew by; deadlines of all sorts have caught up on me and that’s why the blog has been quieter lately. Once I find time, I hope to create some more valuable posts!
Yesterday I missed out on “Casual Friday” because I had a conference to attend. For business events outside of my office, I typically dress very conservative and shy away from colour. Black, white, grey and navy is all that I usually go for when I want to look professional. I ended up not getting home until late, so I apologize for looking worn out in these shots!
Hope everyone enjoyed their Canadian Thanksgiving! My long weekend in Calgary was a busy trip filled with great company and warm weather. On the last day of my trip I went up to Banff and Lake Louise with my family. It’s been a few years since I’ve been to these places and I’m glad to see that they’re still as beautiful as ever.
As you’ve probably noticed by now, I’ve changed my blog name: it is now Walking, Talking Style. I’ve entertained the idea of changing my blog name for a while and just finally decided to pull the plug. All my e-mail subscriptions and social media platforms should link to this new site now, but it may take a week or two for any minor issues to be resolved. Thanks for bearing with me, and I hope you all like my new blog name!
