To all my American Readers, I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving with good food and company! After the Turkey is done and consumed, how many of you will be up early/not sleeping for Black Friday? I’m definitely going to be camping some sites when midnight strikes and I’ve made plans to shop with friends at the crack of dawn. One quirky fact about me is that I’m a devoted movie fanatic. Whenever there’s a movie in theaters that I absolutely love, I watch it multiple times until it is no longer showing. I did this in the past for Batman : The Dark Knight, the final Harry Potter movie, and Les Miserables. This weekend, I did the same for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire as I watched it two nights in a row. This entire film is filled with both visual and emotional intensity and I can’t stress how amazing Jennifer Lawrence’s performance was. I think I may go for a third round!
Due to scheduling conflicts, my company Holiday Party was a month earlier than usual this year. This was the first business party that I’ve ever attended and it certainly did not disappoint! To dress for this Holiday occasion, I pulled out my velvet blazer and my bow tie – my two “dress to impress” pieces.
Over the past couple years, I’ve really been drawn towards contrast sleeves on tops and outerwear. I own three varsity jackets (seen here, here, and here) because they have contrast sleeves and I dig their retro appeal. Since I’ve got enough varsity jackets, I recently got this varsity sweater for a slight change. It still carries the same concept of a varsity jacket but it’s more indoor appropriate; I even wore it to work the other day with an oxford shirt and corduroys.
