Whenever I travel to other cities, I always have a few “off the map” places that I want to visit. For Singapore, it was the Henderson Waves – the coolest jogging trail on the planet! The downside to this trail is that it’s located on top of Mount Faber and takes a long hike to reach. It took me almost an hour to find this place! Fortunately the Henderson Waves is as stunning in real life as it is in photos, and I now have one more thing checked off of my bucket list.
Greetings from Singapore! It took me a long twenty-hour journey to finally get here, but this world class city sure makes the trip worth it. For those of you wondering why I’m wearing shorts in December, it’s because Singapore is virtually seasonless. There’s only one season here: summer. So instead of having a White Christmas this year, I’ll be having a scorching hot one.
Because I’m leaving for a long trip to Asia tomorrow, my past week has been filled with early Christmas dinners and meetups. I actually haven’t spent the latter half of December in Vancouver for a few years due to travels, so Christmas for me has often been pushed a week or two in advance. This year, one of my most memorable Holiday meals was at Seasons in the Park in Queen Elizabeth Park. The food is superb and the restaurant offers a spectacular view of the Vancouver Downtown area. I highly recommend it for anyone who is visiting town!
With just a week left until Santa visits, I thought it’d be an appropriate time for me to start wearing my newly purchased Christmas sweater. I wore this sweater out on Sunday and got several kind compliments about it. Although this sweater was very affordable, I’m actually very impressed with the quality of its acrylic material. Acrylic is my material of choice for winter sweaters because it’s warm and not itchy. Better yet, acrylic is a vegan material! The recently released videos about animal abuse in Chinese fur farms are extremely sickening, hence I’ll definitely be turning away from purchasing certain animal fabrics.
For the past few years I didn’t really get to feel the Christmas spirit because my University exams occupied me for most of December. This year is my first December without having to stress over exams, and it feels pretty darn good to be able to truly enjoy the Holidays! Unfortunately I won’t be spending Christmas in Canada again this year as I will be travelling in Malaysia for the first time. It’s currently 45 degrees Celsius over there now, which means that I’ll be hopping from the freezer into the oven.
