Perhaps because I live in rainy Vancouver, wasting a sunny day always makes me feel extremely guilty. During my last trip to Calgary I had a few hours of free time on a gorgeous afternoon, so I hopped on my Dad’s bike and rode around our neighbourhood. The last time I biked in Calgary was probably a good ten years ago, mainly because Calgary’s weather is often not suitable for outdoor activities. There are a lot of nice biking trails around the city, but unfortunately they’re not used much since there’s snow on the ground for 8-9 months of the year. It was lucky for me to experience a not-so-Canadian Spring in Calgary this year!
I didn’t do any shopping in Calgary, but I was excited to bring home these New Balance walking shoes that I forgot at home last time. I’ve owned these shoes for almost a year and they’ve survived several trips with me, but my love for them has not decreased. They are still my go-to shoes for comfort.
The grass in Calgary is always yellow because subzero temperatures can occur at any time in the year. I’m starting to appreciate it as part of the prairies’ beauty.
