#AEOLive in Hong Kong

Over the past weekend I had the pleasure of attending the kick off of American Eagle Outfitters’ Live MEGAzine in Tsim Sha Tsui. I felt a rush of nostalgia when I received this invite because AEO used to be one of my favourite brands to wear when I was in middle school in Canada. While I’ve worn/known about American Eagle for most of my life, the brand just expanded into Hong Kong in recent months. It’s always exciting for me to find pieces of my Canadian life over here!

These American Eagle jogger pants are one of the best purchases that I’ve made all year. I bought these pants in the states during the summer and I wore them lots while I traveled around the Pacific Northwest. I brought these pants to Hong Kong with me and I still find myself wearing them all the time. I love how these pants have a slightly relaxed fit but yet they perfectly tapered at the bottom cuff. I’ve paired these joggers casually with a t-shirt and more formally with a jersey blazer. For the AEO launch event, they were the perfect piece to wear.

The motivation of #AEOLive is to celebrate the different ways that people live their lives. In accordance to this theme, the Live MEGAzine event included performances from KillerSoap, Yukilovey, and HOME, three local bands that live their lives by sharing their passion for music. I absolutely love the inspirational message of this theme and I felt that this positive energy really fueled the crowd that evening.

Killersoap’s Rocky rocked the stage in his AEO Super Skinny Jeans!

Yukilovey serenaded the crowd with the her voice of an angel. She also looked very cute in her fair isle sweater and overalls!

Fred Cheng was absolutely amazing on the guitar as usual. I actually just went to his concert at KITEC the week prior, so it was a funny coincidence that I got to see him again – but this time, in much closer proximity!

Not only did I get to watch these performances, I also got a chance to meet Fred Cheng. He’s one of my favourite artists in Hong Kong because he has a very inspiring story behind him (Google it if you’re looking for some motivation). He convinces me that dreams are worth chasing even if the road ahead is unpaved. At the event, instead of getting his autograph like all the other fans, I shook his hand and told him that he’s been a real inspiration to me over the past year. I couldn’t settle without a photo though, but I didn’t have a photographer with me. So…I had to #AEOSelfie with him. A bit awkward, but what a memorable night!

I’m wearing:

Shirt : Jack Spade | Vest : Club Monaco | Pants : American Eagle | Shoes : Volley Australia | Bag : Jack Spade (c/o East Dane) | Watch : Seiko (c/o)

Such a cool post Justin, what a great event to attend (and perhaps reminds you a bit of North America too)– you look stylish as always in your outfit and that vest! I’m so glad that you’ve been getting up to such awesome things in HK. Like I’ve said before, I can’t wait to visit again :) Also, thanks for your kind comment on my blog! Vancouver has been kind to us today and we had some lovely weather. Otherwise, it’s been the usual schedule of shortening days and rain. Also, it’s been extremely busy with juggling blogging duties, school, work, and my social life! Oh well, if life wasn’t like this, I’d probably be bored 😛
