January 2015 Instagram Posts

Although my entire month of January was spent in Hong Kong, I still feel that I never had a dull moment. Highlights of the month include some outdoor activities (I started hiking again), exciting career changes, meeting awesome new friends, and also having some visitors from back home. Here’s a recap of some of my favourite moments in January 2015.

Location: Whampoa, Hong Kong

A beer and a skyline view makes for a good evening! Wearing a Zara jacket, Lowry’s Farm chinos, and Zara runners.

Location: Whampoa, Hong Kong

Each lit up window represents a household, each with their own story. I love the “sardine can” that is Hong Kong.

Location: PMQ, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong

I’ve been wearing my Express black topcoat non-stop this winter. On a chilly and gloomy day, I decided to change it up a bit by combining it with my Denim & Supply Shawl Collar sweater.

Location: The Peak, Central Hong Kong

My company annual ball sneaked up on me at the beginning of this month! I didn’t have time to properly get a tuxedo rental, so I wore some of my existing pieces for this formal event: my old H&M tuxedo blazer, Zara French cuff shirt, and Express topcoat.

Location: Via Tokyo, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong

My Vancouverite friend Amy (@constellationinspiration) dropped by Hong Kong and I had such a good time taking her on a food tour! Munching on a Via Tokyo soft ice cream in one hand and 雞蛋仔 (egg waffles) in the other. Wearing an Express topcoat, Zara denim shirt, and Jerome Dreyfuss bag.

Location: Cafe R&C, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong

Cafe R&C now serves Doraemon Lattes! I am so excited for the upcoming Doraemon – Stand by Me movie; I’ve already made plans to see it several times. Tissues needed, I’m sure.

Location: Sheung Wan, Hong Kong

Had the funnest blogger meet up Buzz & Van (@runwayprotagonists) and Amy (@constellationinspiration) in Sheung Wan!  Wearing a DNA Leather jacket (super old), COS jeans, and Jerome Dreyfuss bag .

Location: Teakha, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong

I’m addicted to the Cold Thai Milk Tea at Teakha. Wearing Zara running shoes.

Location: Pacific Place, Admiralty, Hong Kong

Gorgeous blue skies in Hong Kong!

Location: HSBC Tower, Central, Hong Kong

While having High Tea at the Mandarin Oriental with my dear friends Edmond and Suki (@missdeliciousfoodblog) I dressed up in my Zara blazer, Diesel pants, and Zara monk strap shoes.

Location: Tai Ping Shan, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong

Wore a Canadian tuxedo with mustard accents while having brunch in Tai Ping Shan.

Location: NOSH, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong

The BEST brunch I’ve had since I left Canada.

Location: Sheung Wan, Hong Kong

Early morning in a suit: shirt and tie from Banana Republic, briefcase from Ted Baker.

Location: Causeway Bay, Hong Kong

On a casual Friday night out in Causeway Bay I wore my cozy Zara sweater with A&F distressed jeans.

Location: The Peak, Central, Hong Kong

Instead of taking the tram up to the Peak, my Aussie friends and I decided to hike up instead. In love with the view from up top!

Location: Sift, Wanchai, Hong Kong

January was a good month at work for me, so I was rewarded with the best cupcakes in town.

Location: Bonham Strand, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong

While in Sheung Wan at night, I wore a Forever 21 jacket, H&M sweatshirt, and New Balance runners.

Location: The Mixing Bowl, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong

After heading to the gym, I followed a sign that said “Good Coffee this way” in Poho and it led me to this new cafe in Sheung Wan. I really enjoyed the Muesli here!

Location: Sheung Wan, Hong Kong

I got the worst haircut near the end of January, so I spent the last days of the month hiding under a hat. Here I wore a Frank & Oak cap, Gap flannel shirt, and Topman jeans.

I had something to celebrate on the last Friday of the month, so I went to La Bouqueria for a Tapas and Sangria night with friends. This was of course the best time for me to pull out my Desigual shirt! My hair was still horrendous so I covered it up with my Zara fedora hat for the evening.
