A few weeks back I headed up to Shenzhen for my friend Stephy’s wedding (congratulations again!). I met Stephy in high school from way back when I lived in Calgary, so it was incredible for me to be there for her big day on the other side of the world. After the wedding I spent an extra day in Shenzhen to explore the city. I hadn’t visited Shenzhen in over a decade and I was fascinated by how much the city has developed since then.
Spring is fully in session, so lately I’ve been searching for light and casual pieces that are also great for the outdoors (excited for some biking and hiking this season). Here are some items that are currently on my radar:
- A.P.C. Washed Stretch New Denim Jacket – I tried this jacket on in stores and I seriously think it’s the perfect denim jacket. I particularly love its light casual wash and its stretchy denim fabric.
- Herschel Heritage Classic Backpack – Basic, super affordable, but so essential for outdoor activities and excurisons.
- Ami Low Top Sneakers – There really isn’t anything I don’t like from the Ami line, but if I had to pick one thing, it’d be these simple sneakers.
- French Trotters Mark ‘Super Normal’ Tee – Because…being super normal is just great.
It’s been a busy couple of weeks and I’m happy to have the chance to finally sit down and blog again. Earlier this week I turned one year wiser, and I spent my special day in the happiest place on Earth – Disneyland! Normally I’m not too big on birthday celebrations, but since it’s my 25th birthday and I find this to be a significant age, I allowed myself to indulge on this day.
I snapped these photos a while back when I visited Cheung Chau with my friend Richard. I hadn’t visited one of Hong Kong’s outlying islands in a while and I appreciate how Cheung Chau is an easy getaway from the city smog.
Perhaps it’s the big city effect, but I’m now growing a deeper appreciation for dark and all-black looks. I’ve been getting so much wear out of my Zanerobe joggers and my black Jerome Dreyfuss messenger has been my default bag on weekends. I got both these items from East Dane, my favourite online menswear shop. In case you’re in the mood to shop, they have a 25% off Friends and Family sale going on from now until the end of April 11 with code ‘SPRING25’. Happy shopping!
